Trip question

  1. You wrote about your expectations for the trip before we went.  Now that we have gone, what was similar to and what was different from your expectations?
It was really a good experience for me to set with young kids in kindergarten school.Every thing was going as i expect ,but maybe some of the kids didn't like our story because it's little bit long. After that we start singing a different song and they knew all the songs that we chose so that maybe unexpected from them.

2- Compare this elementary school to others you have seen.  What was similar and what was different?

I think that most of the elementary school are same in all the country.According to the elementary school that i went to when i was child they were using the same system of teaching  and the activities. But maybe the different in my elementary school that we were sharing our breakfast every morning and we spend time in the dining room in the school to learn the good and the healthy eating attitude.

What recommendations do you have for IECP students who go on trips like this in the future?

They should prepare more than one story, and talking about the recent interest things to this age.For example talking about the latest kids movie or cartoon as i did with my group i start talking about frozen and how they see it and do they love the movies song kind of these question.

Summary of article #1 (Obesity)

Fighting childhood obesity : it's a family affair
(Summary)

In view of the increasing weight ratio for children in the United State. Most of the parents don't know how to deal with their children about their weight. Because it's hard for the families to tell their kids that they are over weight. And in the same time they don't want their kids lose their self-confidence or feel badly. So this article which written by Sara Verney in the National Public Radio (NPR) talked about Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program   which was founded to help family to solve this problem .
Packard Pediatric Weight Control Program was design on traffic light theme     and divided into three colors the red is for cake and cookies soda and some junk food. The yellow and the green was for food are not banned. As a real example Sara talk about story of child called Gabriel and how the program was helping him to lose weight , also she say that the doctor was with him from the beginning so he know about his weight and what will happen recently. The main problem was that the parents can't talk with their children because the don't want them change their images about themselves and it may affect them negatively. But the best way to solve this problem as she mentioned in the article that all the family have to be part of this program and they also have to apply on this program with their kids as a kind of support.

Since 1999, about 80 percent of the kids who apply for this program they have a new body with original weight and they achieved their goal.
